The Lincoln Trail District Health Department cannot achieve this vision on its own. But as a community working together – from the individuals who commit to healthier lifestyles to our elected officials – we will build on the great accomplishments we’ve made and look forward to a healthier future and a greater quality of life.

Programs and Services

With a central office in Elizabethtown, Lincoln Trail District Health Department operates and serves the residents and visitors of a six-county area including Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington counties. A number of clinical services and programs are provided through those centers.

Promote safe, healthy, nurturing environments needed for optimal child development. Children from birth to 5 years.
Protecting the health of our community through inspections of food, lodging, public facilities, schools and more.
Providing resources for management of chronic disease and advocating for drug and alcohol abuse prevention through community partnerships and education.
WIC provides nutritious foods, infant formula as well as nutrition and breastfeeding education. For parents with children younger than 5 years.
Keeping our community safe by providing resources and reporting for infectious and communicable diseases.
Assuring the safety and health of our community when emergencies strike.
