Childcare Health Consultant
At Lincoln Trail District Health Department, we believe all parents should have healthy, safe, and nurturing child care options. As a free resource to child care providers of children from birth to 5 years old, Child Care Health Consultants (CCHCs) provide:
- Consultation by phone, email, and during on-site visits on topics relating (but not limited) to health, safety, nutrition, physical activity, injury and obesity prevention, and the spread of communicable diseases in child care centers.
- Education and free training sessions that count toward clock hour credits required by Licensing.
- Coordination with child care center management staff to improve resources, regulations and policies that support the health and safety of the families served.
- Collaboration with community partners on issues impacting the quality of child care.
Child Care Health Consultation is available through the Lincoln Trail District Health Department to the six counties in the Lincoln Trail District – Hardin, LaRue, Meade, Marion, Nelson and Washington counties – as well as Grayson, Breckinridge, and Bullitt Counties.
